Ingredients
⅓ cup heavy cream
1 large egg
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
30 frozen mini phyllo pastry shells, at room temperature (they only need about 10 minutes to thaw)
-
½ cup Terrapin Ridge Farms Balsamic Onion Jam
⅔ cup shredded Gruyere cheese (about 2.5 ounces)
Minced chives, for garnish
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small liquid measuring cup, whisk the heavy cream with the egg. Season with salt and pepper.
Arrange the thawed phyllo pastry shells on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon about ½ teaspoon of the Balsamic Onion Jam into each tart shell. Top with some of the cream mixture until the tart shells are about three-quarters full. Finish with some shredded Gruyere.
Bake the tarts for about 15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a platter or serving plate. Garnish with minced chives and some more freshly ground black pepper. Serve warm or at room temperature.
