There are very few simple foods as delicious as a perfectly cooked chicken wing. Whether you like them dry or extra saucy or dressed in buffalo, Asian, or garlic parmesan sauce, chicken wings are a treat that most meat eaters find downright irresistible. And while the deep-fried, buffalo-sauced sports bar variety is always a hit, we also enjoy less expected flavors that can be smoked, grilled…or baked from the comforts of home.
The 0-400 chicken wing method is all the craze right now amongst grill and smoker enthusiasts. So, we felt inclined to give this method a try with our Spicy Pineapple Teriyaki Grill and Wing Sauce. And we’re happy to report, the 0-400 wing method is absolutely worth the hype. Never has it been easier to make wings at home using your grill or smoker. 10/10, highly recommend you give this a try this weekend.
Ingredients
2 pounds split chicken wings
-
¾ cup Terrapin Ridge Farms Spicy Pineapple Teriyaki Grill and Wing Sauce, plus extra if desired
4 tsp. ginger powder, divided
Salt
Sesame seeds and green onion for garnish
Directions
Place the chicken wings in a gallon size plastic bag. Pour the sauce into the bag along with 2 tsp. ginger and add the chicken wings. Massage the bag until evenly mixed. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and thoroughly pat dry. Rub with salt and 2 tsp. ginger powder.
Place the chicken wings on the rack of your unheated grill or smoker and immediately turn the heat to 400 degrees. Set a timer for 30 minutes.
At the 30-minute mark, flip your wings and continue cooking for an additional 20-30 minutes, until the internal temp has reached 170 degrees, and the wings are crispy.
Remove the wings from your grill or smoker and if desired, toss with 2 tablespoons of our Spicy Pineapple Teriyaki. Then, garnish with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onion.
