Turkey Burgers with Smoked Gouda and Hot Pepper Peach Jam
Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users
We’ve transformed the humble turkey burger into a special treat with this fool-proof recipe that’s anything but ordinary. The smokey gouda and hot pepper peach jam are a harmonious pair that really level up an otherwise health-conscious entree. Sandwich it all between a buttery brioche bun for quite possibly, the best turkey burger you’ve ever eaten.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1/2 yellow onion
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Freshly ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- 4 slices smoked gouda cheese*
-
4
tablespoons Terrapin Ridge Farms Hot Pepper Peach Jam, divided
- Bibb or iceberg lettuce
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 hamburger buns
- Mayonnaise and Dijon mustard**
Directions
Using your food processor, pulse the onion until smooth. Alternatively, you can use a box grater.
To a large bowl, add the onion, ground turkey, Worcestershire, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix with your hands (feel free to wear gloves) being careful not to overmix.
Form meat into 4 equal-sized patties.
Heat a large cast-iron skillet or grill pan with 2 tbsp. avocado oil over medium heat, and once hot, add the burgers.
Cook burgers for 5 minutes on each side and then turn the heat down to mediumlow. Cover for 5 minutes, or until burgers read 165 degrees with an instant read thermometer (it’s important to use an instant read thermometer when cooking turkey burgers because once they’re overcooked, they lose all their moisture).
Add cheese to the burgers and cover for 30 seconds. Remove burgers from pan.
Toast buns if you’d like (3-4 minutes at 400 degrees) and dress with mayonnaise, mustard, and our Hot Pepper Peach Jam along with lettuce and onion.
Serve with roasted potatoes or our oven-baked French fries.
Recipe Note
*Feel free to sub the smoked gouda with a smoked cheddar or your favorite cheese.
**We think our jam beautifully replaces ketchup but if you want it, add it!
